Disturbing Incident

this incident just happened yesterday. and yes it was exceedingly disturbing.

this happened after i dropped Ferra at his home after a midnight movie. I finally got to watch transformers. its quite interesting it is...the bond between a young man and his car. i was heartbroken when my valiant was driven away by its new owner.

anwyays i was on the highway heading back home. it was 4 am in the morning too. a motorcycle decided to overtake me as i was in the right lane. it was one of those base model type of motorcycles with a carrier box at the back. as he passed me, he started to wobble ever so slightly. i thought there was something wrong with his bike. i started to slow down to around 80 i think. this is when disaster struck. the slight wobble turned into a full out-of-control fishtail. this is when the rider and his bike wiped out. the rider and bike flipped into the air, all this at at least 80km per hour. in a shower of sparks i saw the carrier box detach itself from the bike while i fully saw the rider tumbling head over heels over and over again. from the 2nd lane both bike and rider flew in my path.

instantly i slammed on the brakes. it was a good thing my tyres are new too. my car came to complete stop less than 3 meters from the fallen rider and bike. i was expecting something pretty nasty. amazingly the rider got up , totally dazed , decide to pick up his bike and walked to the side of the road. i then scooted off to the emergency lane wanting to get out of my car and ask if he was all right. a few speeding cars went by, some honking as there was the carrier box in the middle of the road. the rider seemed pretty fine except for some ripped clothes, good thing he was wearing a jacket too. i then decided to leave.

on reflecting it was a good thing i left too. if this guy decided to say i knocked him down. i would be pretty much screwed. who would believe a 25 year old driver out at 4 am in the morning , driving a sort of sporty sedan? i didnt exactly paint the perfect picture here. where as if i was an ah pek in a champaign corolla altis, the picture would be a more convincing one.

im just glad the rider looked all right apart from looking dazed and slightly bruised. but that sickening image of rider and bike flipping into the air and sliding on the ground will stay imprinted in my mind for quite a while.
